About Us
Soldiers Independent Rehabilitation Foundation, Pune better known as ‘SIRF’ is one of those exceptional initiatives that relentlessly works for long term genuine welfare of the Indian Armed Forces, extends a helping hand and kind support to families of martyred soldiers and Officers and strives for meaningful welfare of disabled Officers and soldiers and the Indian Armed and Para- Military Forces holistically. A completely non- profit Government Registered venture, the NGO started its work by organising the first of its kind felicitation ceremony in Pune for the only three living Param Vir Chakra(highest gallantry award of our country) awardees to ensure that the bravery and courage of the real heros of our nation reaches the common masses, young generation of school students and NCC cadets and inspires the youth of our country to join the Indian Armed Forces.
Actively involved in welfare initiatives for the Indian Armed Forces and Para Military Forces since 1998 and led by two visionaries, AC Yogesh Chithade (ESM, IAF) and Mrs Sumedha Yogesh Chithade (Retired Teacher & Professor) they are proud parents of an Army Officer. ‘SIRF’(सिर्फ) has its roots laid way back in the year 1999 when the latter visited a small ceremony organised at Queen Marys Technical Institute (QMTI, Kirkee, Pune) working towards the welfare of the disabled soldiers along with her students on the auspicious occasion of Raksha-bandhan. Inspite of their disabilities, the patriotic pride, spirit and the willingness to give back to the society, that every soldier epitomized inspired Mrs. Sumedha Yogesh Chithade to pursue her passion to serve the soldiers of our country and their families selflessly, an ambition which she pursues tirelessly till date.
